Beginning

There has been another technology overhaul at the house. And for me new computer equals new Minecraft World. I called it "Surface Pro 4" because I am super original like that. The goal is to build something amusing one hour at a time.

The day dawned and I found myself in a pleasantly grassy area with some water and land in the distance.

Upon further inspection I determined I was on an island.

I decided to head West to the landmass with Dark Oak.

Upon landing I decided to get fancy and make a hut from wood instead of my normal dig a hole in a hill approach to the first night. This was probably not the smartest plan as soon my roofless hut had an unwelcome guest.

Hooray I survived my first night.

After brutally slaughtering a few innocent pigs. I decided I best go back and mark spawn island with a dirt tower.

I then decided I would head East because there were Savannah trees and putting a red roof on the hut seemed much nicer than more brown. After a bit of chopping and watching my food bars decline it seemed wise to try and locate some coal. I started circling a big hill. I didn't find any coal but there were sheep!

As dusk was approaching there was still no coal but I did find this hole.

Alas there was nothing down the hole. But I decided to block myself in for the night and try my luck with mining in a random direction. Almost immediately I found iron! Super useful.... but only if I find coal....I turned around and sure enough, coal!

Shoring up all of my spoils and churning out more tools for myself when the sun rose it was back out for a bit more wood and then home to the hut. This time I shored it up with a hopefully temporary dirt ceiling to keep out the spiders. Plus windows cuz I do be fancy.
